It seems like forever since I last posted so I thought I would share a bit.
It was a beautiful 80 degree Fall day here in Colorado yesterday, so Cindy & I decided to put together a day trip experience. After talking over some options we decided a drive along the South Platte River just west of here. We did this same trip a few years ago so we knew what to expect.
Cindy made up some egg salad sandwiches, I cleaned some grapes, we filled up a cooler, loaded up lawn chairs and got ready to go.
We headed west to Sedalia where we headed down to the South Platte. It takes a bit of driving to get there but it was well worth it. On our way we drove by countless homes both modest and otherwise. Some of these places were tucked away in the trees while others were right on the river.
Once along the Platte we kept our eyes open for a good place to put up our lawn chairs, relax and have our picnic. We found the same place we had stopped before.
After some time there, we continued our drive while marveling at the beauty so close to home. We saw some campers and a number of fly fishermen/women standing in the Platte doing their best to land a trout. Some families hung out near the water wading and playing games.
There is not much more to say really. It was a beautiful and enjoyable day.
