CASINO NIGHT IN RIVERTON

Ever since moving to Riverton I had heard of a special offer for the 55+ crowd out at the Wind River Casino on the reservation just outside town. It involved a free meal and gambling one night a week. I have never given it much thought until I moved in with Mel/ Beth & Kensie for the last weeks of my stay here. The Millers have Casino Night.

Well of course I tagged along.
Once you register you get a plastic card with your registration info on it. Then you swipe it through a machine that prints out a slip entitling you to a free meal plus $5 credit to use gambling. Well who is going to turn down such a deal.

The food is passable - tonight was a french dip sandwich, potatoe salad and a macaroni salad. Like I said - passable. After dinner the 4 of us headed to the slots.

Well, since I was playing on credit at a penny slot I wasn't terribly concerned. It didn't take more than 30 minutes to lose everything. I then pushed in $2 and finished off with $1.32. Wooohooo! I'll have to admit that I did feel a bit of a "fever" coming on me when I won $2.50 on one roll. I had visions of even bigger winnings and coming home with my wallet bulging. Well it didn't last. The fever went away and the other losers and I came home.

I participated in casino night three times. I believe me big time gambling excursions are over now though. I'm moving to Denver in a few days now.

I should mention that during the summer they have dancing put on by native dancers which I saw once.
We went a bit late tonight since I gave blood and then led a class on the book of Revelation all of which meant we didn't get out there until almost 7pm.
